Lot 219: John Bachmann, Panorama of the Seat of War, New York, 1861. Bound portfolio of six chromolithographed topographic perspective maps of Confederate states at the outset of the American Civil War. Estimate $10,000 to $15,000.

In our upcoming Maps & Atlases, Natural History & Color Plate Books summer sale, bidders can explore a strong selection of scarce New York City related maps and graphics, several maps of an independent Texas Republic from 1836-1846, birds and animals by John James Audubon, Native American imagery, and a wide variety of other compelling subjects.

Lot 173: James Hamilton Young, A New Map of Texas, with the Contiguous American & Mexican States, Philadelphia, 1836. Published in the first year of Texan independence. Estimate $7,000 to $10,000.
Lot 138: Currier & Ives, after Charles R. Parson & Lyman Atwater, The City of New York, New York, 1876. An outstanding large bird’s eye view of New York in pleasing unrestored original condition. Estimate $6,000 to $9,000. 
Lot 146: Abraham Ortelius, Americae Sive Novi Orbis, Nova Descriptio, Antwerp, 1641. The extremely scarce final edition with updated geography to the tip of South America and Spanish text on verso. Estimate $4,000 to $6,000.

Atlases & Books with Maps

Lot 235: Heyman van Dyck, Voorne Caart-boeck van alle de Dorpen, en Polders Gelegen Inden Lande van Oost, ende West Voorne, Amsterdam, 1701. Estimate $4,000 to $6,000.
