Our Nation's Finest is a commemorative drawing for the first responders to the 9/11 attacks.

California-based photorealist Patrick Philip Lee depicts men he meets on the streets in Southern California by photographing them and studying them for his drawings. Through his practice, Lee dissects symbols of masculinity, identity, and their gaze to reveal their humanity.

Reed Foundation Achievement Award, 2006; Nikon 2000 Grand Prize Winner, 2000; and the Tom of Finland Emerging Artist Contest, 1993. His works are included in the permanent collections of the High Museum of Art, Atlanta, GA; Huntington Museum of Art, Huntington, WV; Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Los Angeles, CA; Minneapolis Institute of Art, Minneapolis, MN; The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Houston, TX; and the Pizzuti Collection, Columbus, OH.
