"H. Brasier was an engineer in the Paris firm owned by the Mors Brothers. In 1901, he began to work with George Richard . . . whose trademark four-leaf clover is seen in the upper left - to produce cars under the name of Richard-Brasier" (Cappiello / Rennert, p. 91). By 1905, however, the two men split and Brasier kept the four leaf clover logo. A number of posters for Brasier show the dust swirling up behind the wheels of the roadsters being advertised. Not only did this imply the speed the vehicles could attain, but also acknowledged the number of unpaved roads this early in automotive history. Cappiello takes this concept to a colorful extreme with the car emerging from a rainbow colored swirl of motion. This is the smaller, one-sheet version; the largest format is a four-sheet variant.
