A very good impression of this scarce print.

Born and raised in Hungary, Gross-Bettelheim lived in the United States from 1925-56. She studied at numerous institutions around Europe, including the Académie de Grande Chaumière
in Paris, before moving to the United States where she lived in Cleveland and New York. During the 1930s, she produced prints for the Graphic Arts division of the WPA. A communist, she was a member of the John Reed Club and the American Artists' Congress. Her work often explored social and political issues. She returned to Hungary in the late 1950s.
