6 detached leaves (pages 1, A-D, 2-6, and 11-12 only); horizontal fold with minor wear, lacking pages 7-10 and all supplement sections. San Francisco, CA, 28 November 1978.

The front-page headline reads "City Hall Murderrs. Moscone, Milk Slain--Dan White Held," with portraits of the two victims, and the killer being taken into custody. Another front-page article announces that Dianne Feinstein would replace the late Mayor Moscone. Several other articles address the killings, including "Stunned Silence in San Francisco," "The Gloves are Off: White Felt Betrayed by Moscone"; and "It Had Been a Proud Year for Harvey Milk." A map of the City Hall offices and the killer's route appears on page 12.

  • Condition: This newspaper had four extra pages inserted before printing to accomodate the late-breaking news. The leaf with pages 1 and A was detached from the leaf with pages 11-12, showing that 12 was the final page in the newspaper's opening section. Pages B-C and D-2 are also detached (from the missing pages 7-10). Pages 4, 5, 6 and 7 are conjoined.
