ANTON THEODOR SCHWARZ (1904-1971)

VIENNE / L'OPÉRA. 1937.

37x24 1/4 inches, 94x61 1/2 cm.
Condition A. Framed.

A magnificent look through the trees at the front of Vienna's State Opera, the stylish throngs of people, vehicles and cafe society along the bustling Ringstrasse. The Vienna State Opera House was constructed from 1861 to 1869 on Vienna's Ringstrasse, the city's most prominent thoroughfare, which circles the city center. Home to artists such as Gustav Mahler, Richard Strauss and Herbert von Karajan, the opera house was virtually destroyed during World War II. It reopened in 1955 after 10 years of renovation. This is the French version.
